In an ironic twist of fate, the silhouettes that champion Kobe Bryant’s legacy on the court keep changing; the Nike Kobe 3 Low is the real new hotness, though the Nike Kobe 11 is pitching a comeback and the Nike Kobe 6 is never too far out of the conversation. It’s a good problem to have, speaking to the resounding, enduring cachet that Bryant’s line holds in the modern landscape, but it does mean that the Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 Low is the most steadfast partner for the late legend in recent years.

With several colorways still in the can, including the “Steam” and “Siempre Hermanos,” another, more simplistic variation comes to light with the Kobe x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Daybreak.” Though not carrying the same varsity narrative as the “Lower Merion Aces,” this does appear to be a simple palette swap on the blocking that it set up. In place of the Philadelphia school’s dark red, a subtler middle ground between purple and blue overtakes the alternating 8/24 heels, a solid outsole, and the fabric collar. The rest of the shoe delivers the scaly arrangement we’ve come to expect from these “Mamba Forever” overhauls of the Air Force 1 Low.

The Kobe x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Daybreak” is already listed on non-US retailers for May 21st, though that date may change as we approach this release. Expect a $120 retail price upon arrival.
