Summer sneakers are starting to pop up for warmer weather, and adidas has a fun twist on a classic coming our way soon. The Samba goes under the knife this season for a warm weather variant, featuring a woven upper and open-back mule design.

Mule-style footwear has taken over the world of sneakers since becoming incredibly popular in the pandemic era. When much of the world was under shelter-in-place orders, easy, comfortable clothing and footwear became the go-to, with brands like Birkenstock seeing a huge surge in popularity thanks to their all-around comfort and ease of use. Since then, our favorite sneaker brands like Nike, New Balance, and adidas have leapt into the fray, launching their own open-backed silhouettes, often adapted from beloved classics. This season, adidas is doing just that with their new Samba Woven Mule. The new look removes the entire heel section from a standard Samba, as well as constructing the base layer from an open, breathable woven leather for the ultimate warm weather sneaker. The pair will debut in this cream white color, with gold Samba script on the outer sides.

ADIDAS SAMBA WOVEN MULE RELEASE INFORMATION

adidas’ latest interpretation of the iconic Samba does not have an official release date yet, but will almost certainly arrive on shelves sometime in the next few weeks. In addition to the airy, breathable woven base layer, this pair removes the heels entirely to transform the sneaker into a open-backed Mule design. Pairs will be available from both adidas and select retailers.
