Over his years with the Lakers, Kobe Bryant developed a close relationship with the team’s big man, Pau Gasol. This month, Nike is releasing a special set of sneaker honoring that bond, including the “Siempre Hermanos” Air Force 1.

On the NBA court, Kobe was known for his quiet, controlled, yet dominating demeanor. However, the legendary Lakers guard had a soft side to him, which he shared almost exclusively with Pau Gasol, the former Lakers power forward. Over the years, the two developed a close relationship on and off the court, even speaking in Pau’s native Spanish in games to keep their opponents from listening in to their plans. This year, Nike is celebrating that relationship with two special releases, the Kobe 8 EXT and the Air Force 1 Low in the “Siempre Hermanos” pack. The Kobe 8 surfaced earlier this year, showing off some fun details and the Spanish name, which translates to ‘forever brothers’. Now, the Air Force has emerged in official images. The show sports a “Twine” brown shade of suede for the upper, using darker brown piping around each panel for some added depth to the palette. Light blue accents adorn the heel counters and outsoles, while black pony hair Swooshes complete the look.

The next release of the Kobe-branded Air Force 1 Low from Nike is currently expected to release this month, on April 24th, 2026. Celebrating the bond Kobe shared with Pau Gasol, the “Siempre Hermanos” edition will arrive alongside a matching pair of the Kobe 8 EXT, with both pairs available through both Nike and select retailers. The AF1 will be priced at $150.
