It’s that modus operandi that makes departures from that desaturated script so notable. As the brand has gotten comfortable in their renewed seat at the table of streetstyle titans, those trips outside of their comfort zone have come more and more often. For the New Balance 990v4 “Magic Blue” on tap today, the colored midsole and light blue backing help this fit the category of expressive editions, with some visual ties to previous fare that shared its palette: the “Community Navy” 990v6, an inline 990v4 in “Arctic Blue,” or AURALEE’s collab take all jump to mind.
