This February, golfers worldwide will head to the desert in Phoenix for the annual Waste Management Phoenix Open, and Nike once again has a special pair of shoes ready for the rowdy event.
Last year, the Swoosh’s golf department updated the Air Pegasus ’89 into a walking trash bin, covering the upper with a garbage-themed pattern with transparent nylon overlays. One year later, the local flora and fauna inspire the NRG release via the Roshe 2 Golf shoe; transformed into a prickly cactus, this Rose features a textured upper in a bright green shade, while the Swoosh itself features the bothersome thorns seen on the plant. Hits of bright fuchsia sits beneath the updated traction.
A further nod to the desert is are the venomous scorpions that are often found hiding; you’ll see one on the tongue beneath the pull-tab as well as on the insoles.
These special-edition golf shoes are launching on February 5th, 2025 for $110 on Nike.com during the weekend of the sports event.
