The partnership between Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance strikes again this week. Today, the NYC brand has quietly released a new batch of colors for their take on the RC56 runner, a silhouette they got to debut this Spring.

This year, New Balance tapped Aimé Leon Dore to help launch a brand new sneaker silhouette, the RC56. ALD had previously helped the Boston footwear brand bring a sneaker model back from the dead with the 550, an ’80s basketball shoe that found new life as a lifestyle model in 2020. That release drove the 550 to immense popularity, and further strengthened a rapidly growing bond between the two brands. This Spring, the two teamed up for the release of the RC56, this time a fresh silhouette inspired by slim, vintage running heritage.

When the RC56 first appeared on our timelines, it was believed to be a signature model for ALD. While they did have a hand in helping to design the brand new model, the shoe has started to pop up in standard-issue NB colorways this month. Before those pairs start to hit shelves, Aimé has quietly released a second batch of their own colorways. Three styles are available for this drop, all currently on sale through the ALD website. First up is a simple black look with silver overlays, followed by a tonal Varsity Gold pair. The third look is the most complex, featuring a dark pine green base with black as a secondary shade, and small gold accents as a final touch.

Aimé Leon Dore quietly released their latest styles of the New Balance RC56 last night, alongside their latest collection of apparel. The still-new runner from the Boston brand is available in three colorways for its second ALD batch, all of which are now available directly from the brand’s website. Each pair comes with a $165 price tag.
