The 1990s birthed some of the most iconic designs in sneaker history, something incredibly visible in the three decades since as references to and revitalizations of that era have been a constant theme. However, it’s possible to hold space for those creations while still recognizing that the chunky, bulky design language that often defines those shoes can sometimes be antithetical to modern fashion stylings; our dedicated readership will recognize the Air More Uptempo Low or the DT Max 96 Low as moments where the Swoosh has recognized just that.

On the opposite coast, Reebok seemingly made the same calculation as they unveiled the Shaqnosis Low, adapting the Mobius collection classics for the tastes of a new generation. Checking off its original black/white was the first order of business for the “new” model, but the Boston brand has more in store for Shaq’s remodel. Up next is this “Muted Mauve” colorway, a boldly spring-forward creation where a rosy gradient plays out across the radial design. In its sustained retro run during the 2010s, the Shaqnosis built out pink editions on multiple occasions, but this signals a more modernized touch with the earthy anchoring at the lower center and in the laces.
