Nike footwear designer Bryce Wong recently lit up the timeline in response to Complex’s Sneaker of the Year list, positing that the dominance of retro styles in their rankings is a signal to Beaverton that running back established hits is a successful formula. We’ll leave you to your own conclusion on whether that bears out as the dominant storyline in the brand’s output, but you can’t discount that the Swoosh has genuinely attempted to inject new life into their roster in 2025.

The Nike Ava Rover is one of the more visible examples, positioned with a heavy marketing push and healthy crop of colorways as the “next big” lifestyle shoe within their hallowed halls. Frontlining ReactX cushioning, a rather novel invention from their product team, has been highlighted in its own right throughout that process, again seen aesthetically as the Nike Ava Rover takes on “Vivid Purple.” The split blocking that highlights said platform and the graphic mudguard is again in focus, this time taking on a cooler overall profile with an “Armory Navy” upper and eye-catching “Vivid Purple” accents, centered on the mini Swoosh in the outsole and the rear pulltab.

Look for the Nike Ava Rover in “Armory Navy/Vivid Purple” to hit Nike.com and partnering retailers as a part of the Holiday ’25/Spring ’26 slate. A $145 retail price is confirmed.
