Nike is cooking up another retro colorway for the Foamposite Pro in early 2026. This week, we have our best look yet at the “University Blue” first rerelease since 2003, currently scheduled to hit shelves in March.

The Nike Foamposite is one of the most important models in the brand’s history, redefining what a basketball shoe could be when it debuted in 1997. Its futuristic, molded Foamposite upper pushed Nike into new manufacturing territory and set the stage for more experimental design. Popularized by Penny Hardaway, the silhouette transcended the court, becoming a street staple tied to hip-hop, city style, and status. The silhouette made another comeback this year, to help introduce the GT Future, a modern take on the court icon.

However, Nike is still rolling out plenty of colors for the original Foamposite and Pro version while the GT Future is getting started on its rollout this season. This week, we have an early look at a classic colorway of the Foam Pro, getting its first-ever retro release since launching in 2003. The pair in question is the “University Blue” style, which takes Nike’s signature baby blue shade (originally from Jordan’s UNC-inspired shoes), and colors the Foamposite’s molded upper in the bright tone. The rest of the shoe’s construction comes in white, with black mini Swooshes and carbon fiber sections to complete the look.

Nike’s latest retro colorway of their Foamposite Pro has not been officially announced yet, but is internally listed for a release on March 20th, 2026. The light “University Blue” color scheme will be available from both Nike and select retailers, with a price tag set at $240.
