Whether it’s the Nigo Air Force 3 or Lil Yachty Air Force 1, patent leather is leading the charge in bringing back early-aughts energy. But as always with the Swoosh’s initiatives in the collab space, it doesn’t take long for the same concepts to bleed over to the mainline, something we’re now getting a glimpse of with the Nike Dunk Low “Laser Orange.”
We’ll admit — during that period, the Air Force 1 was more likely to wear the glossy material at hand, but still the point remains. The Swoosh and overlays each take on patent leather, leaving the “Laser Orange” foundation underneath in relatively standard composition. Especially with the combo of jet black and steel blue, we can’t help but think of the SB Dunk Low “Concord,” far as that release may be in the rear view at this stage. More than anything, this continues to highlight how Beaverton experiments with the Dunk, offering up a bounty of off-kilter variations to avoid (further) burn-out with the silhouette.
The Nike Dunk Low “Laser Orange” expected sometime in the coming weeks, retailing for $125 upon arrival. Watch our Sneaker Release Dates for additional info on when this pair will hit shelves
