Early this month, Australian retailer Up There unveiled their latest project with Asics, featuring the GEL-Kayano 12.1 in a “Natsukashii” theme. This week, they’ve quietly followed up with a Pt. 2 release, dressed in white & grey, and available now.

Australia’s sneaker retailers have stepped up their game in the last few years, with a handful of stores releasing some excellent collaborations this decade. One of our favorites to watch has been Up There, a Melbourne-based boutique specializing in high end apparel and footwear. Our first introduction to Up There came in 2021 with their Saucony Shadow release, then following up a year later with a banger pair of the New Balance 2002R. Their first Asics release came in Summer 2024, featuring the GEL-Terrain.

Fast forward to October 2025, and Up There delivered their second work with Asics, a green and grey “Natsukashii” style of the GEL-Kayano 12.1. That release is still fresh, and already they’ve followed up with a Pt. 2 edition, which released globally online this morning. The second iteration, which is named after a Japanese term for nostalgia, features the same details as its predecessor, but in a much softer color scheme. the new look features a pale grey mesh base layer, adding some matching synthetic components for the overlays. The rest of the upper is cloaked in white, with tiny hints of red on the tongue and heels for a final touch.

Following up on their release of the GEL-Kayano 12.1 earlier this month, Up There and Asics have quietly dropped a Part 2 of the “Natsukashii” silhouette. This time, the silhouette gets a simple white and grey build with tiny hints of red as an accent. Pairs are now available from the retailer’s website, still available in a good range of sizes and priced at $201.
