Sabrina Ionescu has already hit some serious milestones: graduating college with the women’s record for triple-doubles, setting all-time high water marks in the Three-Point Contest, three-pointers made in a season, the list goes on. With the WNBA Finals tipping off, only one truly matters now: evening up her record in the W’s final round and bringing the chip to New York for the first time in franchise history. However, there’s still room to celebrate the achievements that paved the way, exactly what the latest GS pair of the Nike Sabrina 2 aims to accomplish.

There’s an unquestionably regal air on this shoe, owed mainly to the pantones of “Dark Raisin” purple and “Metallic Gold” that light the way for this design. Further, the typical “S” tongue logo gives way to what appears to be an English-style crest. The new detail plants Ionescu’s initial in the middle of a checkered shield, flanked by queen’s wands and a cushy Swoosh crown on top.

Sadly, the title here doesn’t carry through to any additional special edition touches (engravings of some of Sabrina’s myriad broken records certainly would’ve been welcome). Still, the effect is applied effectively, and the monarchical imagery here aligns well with “passing down” to the next generation of WNBA superstars.

The Nike Sabrina 2 GS “Broken Records” releases on October 24th in Grade School sizes, retailing at $100. While not officially confirmed yet, this is expected to remain a kids’ exclusive. Check out a gallery of official images while we wait for this pair’s launch.
