The New Balance MADE In USA Fall/Winter 2023 Collection Begins Rollout On October 26th

Teddy Santis and his New Balance family tend to keep their MADE in USA efforts under wraps until right before launch date. The two have recently unveiled their Fall/Winter 2023 Collection in full, which releases its first batch on October 26th.

Clad in seasonal tones and informed by the trails, the upcoming capsule from the Aimé Leon Dore-frontman and Boston-based brand reimagine classics like the New Balance 998 alongside the newer New Balance 990v6. Vibrant purple, yellow, and other hues seen across Spring/Summer offerings are replaced with shades of brown, “Burgundy,” and “Olive Leaf.” Ever-the-visionary, Santis also employs eye-catching orange, red, and teal tones for leather makeovers of the New Balance 990v4 and New Balance 996, delivering nostalgic makeovers via the MADE in USA platform.

Season 4 of the domestic initiative, which Santis took over in April 2021, brings aesthetics that might’ve formed part of small boutique or J.Crew collaborations from the 2010s to the modern era. The seasonal capsule complements projects like the Carhartt WIP 990v6 well, bringing understated, but exciting arrangements to New Balance heritage. Each style boasts high-quality materials, “Made in U.S.A.” branding, and a healthy mix of input from both the New England institution and ALD founder.

New Balance 990v4 “Olive Leaf”

Introduced to the world in 2016, the New Balance 990v6 helped bring widespread attention to the century-old brand. Its uppers typically feature a combination of leather, pigskin suede and mesh, delivering a dose of New Balance Running heritage. “Olive Leaf” covers the bulk of the sneaker’s take for the Fall/Winter 2023 capsule, although some panels across the upper deviate in a season-appropriate tan tone.

New Balance 990v6 “Burgundy”

“Burgundy” makeovers aren’t novel to New Balance’s MADE in USA line, but they’ve gone missing since Santis took over. The latest 990 series silhouette is dipped in the wine-reminiscent color, with profile “N” logos and mesh tongues donning the darkest shades of the bunch. FuelCell foam underfoot brings the brand’s marquee cushioning solution to the lifestyle-focused offering, a detail that’s been celebrated by Action Bronson and countless others.

New Balance 998 “Olive Leaf”

Santis’ MADE in USA efforts have included the New Balance 998 all year – and understandably so. The “dad shoe” has been celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2023, racking up a number of high-profile collaborations in the process. An “Olive Leaf” look firmly positions the latest style as an autumnal option, which the silhouette wears well. Underfoot, ABZORB components inject an “aged” touch into the sneaker.
