Following a collection around the 991v2 in 2023 and the 574 earlier this year, New Balance and Stone Island have three words for you: “Run it back.” The increasingly frequent partners are striking while the iron is hot, revitalizing their relationship just 6 months after their last, and taking to the New Balance 991v2 once again for three colorways. We just got first look images at one, a tonal treatment of all-tan.
As promised, beige is the overwhelming hue here, though tinted a bit lighter on the suede underlays towards the forefoot and bit darker on the mesh at the very base layer. At least in this first look, it feels like a bit less of a transformative take on the silhouette especially compared to last year’s edition, which widened the mesh of the base model while still working in Stone Island’s trademark colors.
To that point though, this shoe should be welcome news for fans of the UK imprint, their extensive apparel catalog capitalizing on this sort of monochromatic atmosphere. Early indications are that this Stone Island 990v2 will be joined by two similarly clad editions; one in green and one in black. The full Stone Island New Balance collection is expected this Holiday season. Retail pricing is unconfirmed at this stage, but keep an eye on our Sneaker Release Dates page for updates as they come.
