The legendary artist Futura is celebrating his 70th birthday this month, and it appears he has joined forces with Nike for a special sneaker. Limited to just 70 pairs, the “FLOM” theme returns, this time in the form of the Air Force 1.

In 2004, Nike SB was still finding its footing. The Swoosh sub-label had found its first signature rider in Paul Rodriguez, and the modified SB Dunk was becoming incredibly popular amongst skaters and early sneakerheads. The SB team was expanding their partnerships, teaming up with artists and musicians to release their take on the now-iconic sneaker. That year, Nike SB teamed up with Futura, creating an ultra-limited edition pair of the Dunk dubbed “FLOM”. Short for ‘For Love or Money’, only 24 pairs of the sneaker were made, and gifted to the artist’s friends & family.

Now, over twenty years later and a handful of other collaborations later, Future has another super limited Nike shoe on the horizon. This pair will not release to the public, as the look is limited to just 70 pairs manufactured, each of which is numbered on the inner tongue. This release commemorates the “FLOM” style, reinterpreting the shoe’s colors and patterns in the form of the Air Force 1 Low. The number 70 was chosen as Futura will turn 70 years old this month, on November 70th.

This pair will likely be given strictly to Futura and Nike friends & family, and will not release to the public.
