adidas Basketball is celebrating Christmas with a special drop using Anthony Edwards latest signature shoe, the adidas Anthony Edwards 2. Launching in December 2025, just before the Timberwolves take on the Nuggets on Christmas Day. What’s unique about this pair is its split design.
Compared to other Christmas drops from sneaker brands, the adidas Anthony Edwards 2 takes a more traditional approach with its color palette. Highlighted in Core Black, Lucid Red, and Lucid Lemon, the shade of Green is a bit more vibrant. However, you can tell these are holiday-inspired sneakers. Highlighted with a split design, the lateral side is covered in Red, while the medial is dipped in Green. The cage is outlined in Black with the same shade on the collar, tongue, laces, and heel. Anthony Edwards logo lands on the tongue, and 3M reflective detailing is applied to the toe. Lastly, the outsole has a translucent finish and has a split Red and Green design.

The AE 2 has grown on me a lot due to the colorways and themes. I have always liked Christmas sneakers for their colors, but the AE 2 is my top choice because of the split design. Plus, I like the shade of Green used. It’s lighter than traditional Christmas drops, but it’s dope. Since there are so many releases this time of year, I’ll probably hold off on buying, but if I catch them on sale, it’s a pickup.
