With next year’s FIFA World Cup coming closer into view each month, we’re already starting to see sneaker brands get their marketing in order ahead of what’s sure to be the biggest sports moment of 2026. Nike’s strongest and most celebrated recent move in the realm of soccer was bringing back the Total 90 III as a lifestyle shoe earlier this year – a decision praised both by the on-trend crowd and by true football fans who remember the Y2K era, when Nike’s soccer division was arguably at its peak.

The Total 90 III SP now arrives in a “Metallic Gold” colorway for Holiday 2025, serving as a counterpart to the “Metallic Silver” that reintroduced the silhouette back in March. The Nike Total 90 III was born in what many consider the golden era of Nike Soccer, making this release especially fitting and aesthetically aligned with the bold, flashy styles of the late ’90s and early 2000s. A “Metallic Gold” upper is paired with black hits on the Swoosh logos and encircled “90” on the medial side, while a white midsole and black outsole sit underfoot. The look can’t help but evoke memories of Ronaldinho’s legendary “Touch of Gold” cleats – though that design came on the Tiempo Legend rather than the Total 90 III.
