If there’s one thing you’ll get from New Balance, it’s a whole ‘lotta grey. Though you’ll most frequently catch its emphasis on the neutral shade around their brand holiday in May — a point in 2025 where their fresh New Balance 2010 embraced the concept — nothing has ever stopped the Boston brand from centering that hue at any point in the calendar.
The New Balance ABZORB 2000 at hand is concrete (no pun intended) proof of that, catching up to its peer in the 2010 a few full seasons later. We couldn’t fault you if you figured this was just an edited version of the debut “Baby Blue,” sharing essentially the same color blocking scheme that the silhouette has worn throughout its year-long introduction. Darkened no-sew overlays help to add some visual depth to the uppers, as do similar shades in the flexible ABZORB pods underfoot. In line with its chrome overtones, the “past meets future” concept the ABZORB 2000 majors in is very much in focus with this pair, splitting the difference between Y2K retro and entirely futuristic with its shading and hardware choices.
No concrete date has been attached to the New Balance ABZORB 2000 in grey, but expect a drop sometime between Holiday ’25 and Spring ’26. The usual $170 MSRP is expected to be attached to this edition.
