The Nike SB Dunk loves itself a sequel. Take the myriad versions of the “Lobster,” a new edition of the vaunted Staple, or even rumors of a second Wu-Tang Dunk for 2025, and you’ll see that revisiting beloved designs is the furthest thing from a novel concept in the Beaverton subdivision. However, one of the reprisal efforts in 2024 takes a bit of a different shape, coming clear into view with official images of the Wizard of Oz Nike SB Dunk Low.

For the uninitiated, the pair we’re gesturing at is the “Dorothy” Dunk Low from 2015, but that colorway is better categorized in the vein of the Freddy Krueger Dunks or even the Air Force 1 “Jason Vorhees” from Halloween 2024, deriving its palette from a body of work without officially shaking hands with its stewards. Here, it appears Nike has made the relationship official, alternating “Nike SB” and “Wizard of Oz” branding across the tongue of either shoe.

In kind, the insoles sport actual stills from the film, depicting the Wicked Witch of the West instructing a member of her flying monkey army. Zooming out, the shoe itself sports imagery from another seminal scene in the Golden Era classic, when Dorothy falls asleep in a lea-like field of poppy plants. Though not shown in these images, the sheer layer pasted on top actually conceals matte red material underneath, this pair relying on the “tear/wearaway” concept seen on the “City Of Style” drop from earlier this year.
