The Air Jordan 1 “Bred” is marching on as the defining shoe so far in 2025, now stretching from the digital world onto Nike’s homefront. On January 29th, select employees on the Beaverton campus were hit with “fines,” echoing the Jordan Brand creation story that the imprint continues to reference as we inch closer to the shoe’s earnest release.
Sorting through some of the social media reports, Swoosh employees naturally got the demerit (containing a gift card, in actuality) for sporting pairs like the Air Jordan 1 “Shadow” and Travis Scott’s “Elkins” Jordan 1 Low. However, continuing the “ripple effect” angle of the Banned narrative, Beaverton employees were hit with write-ups for sporting seemingly any Jordan models, with the Jumpman Jack and Jordan 4 RM also earning (un)lucky wearers a citation.
It’s also a very public inclusion of a previously understated aspect of the “Banned” promo effort, the @thenikesuit character. A winking “middle management” incarnate, “Lawrence H.” has been an inclusion in several previous stops in this journey, including the promo ad in December ’24 and the censoring of His Airness’ Chicago Bulls statue.
