If there was any doubt before, 2024 earnestly stamped the New Balance 1906R as the apple of the Boston brand’s eye, seeing a litany of remodels and reimaginings stem from the silhouette (1906U, 1906A, select appearances of the 1906D.) However, none are as controversial and transformative as the New Balance 1906L, a sportstyle meets high fashion oddity that seems poised to take its momentum into 2025.

The latest “Dark Juniper” outfit for the New Balance loafer takes a significant step beyond the monochromatic and two-tone looks we’ve seen grace it so far. The titular olive tone paces down the midline, but it’s a true multi-color affair; techy metallic overlays, conservative navy trim, a faux-vintage off white midsole and closing hits of jet black on the outsole comprise the most off-kilter edition we’ve covered of to date.
