Gum Soles Make An Appearance On The Air Jordan 13

The yellowish-brown, slightly translucent rubber soles are typically associated with casual streetwear. You think gum bottoms, and you’re likely recalling some Air Force 1s worn with jeans or shorts. However, Michael Jordan himself prevailed with the gum sole look, first on the Air Jordan 11 IE Low back in 1996. So why hasn’t it appeared on more Jordan Retros?

In comes the Air Jordan 13, the sneaker that co-shares the title as the last Air Jordan worn by Michael Jordan in a Chicago Bulls uniform. The high-top, leather-laden, well-padded sneaker isn’t all that appropriate for hooping in today’s modern game, which is why Jordan Brand is offering the model is a clear-cut off-court casual look. First, we’re getting the gum sole on the Air Jordan 13, a truly rare sighting on the design inspired by a black panther. The upper is a perfect match for that yellow bottom, appearing in a premium white leather and dark Midnight Navy suede for a release that leaves little to no room for criticism.

If you’re on a mission to refresh your Air Jordan rotation for the new school year, look no further than the Air Jordan 13 “Midnight Navy”, which is currently scheduled to release on August 10th in full family sizes. These are dropping on Nike.com, Foot Locker, Champs, JD Sports, and nearly every other retail, so don’t strain yourself too much trying to lock down a pair.
