It’s here and it’s beautiful. After being confirmed in November of 2024, first look images of the “Fire Red” Jordan 5 retro featuring the original black tongue have emerged.
One of three original colorways returning for the model’s 35th anniversary alongside the “Black Metallic Reimagined” and “Grape,” the “Fire Red” is made unique by 23 stitching for Mike’s jersey number on the lateral sides. We most recently got a silver tongue edition in 2020, but the OG black tongue design hasn’t reared its head since 2013.
More than that, the 2025 black tongue retro comes with “Nike Air” on the heel for the first time since its original 1990 release. We’re expecting there to be a ton of energy around the drop, especially considering that the “Black Metallic Reimagined” was a smash hit.
The Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red” is currently scheduled to release September 13th, 2025 for a retail price of $210. Scroll through first look imagery below while we wait on the official gallery from the folks over in Beaverton.
