The Evolution Championship Series (EVO) recently concluded in Las Vegas, with exciting announcements, including the highly anticipated Nike and Tekken 8 collaboration. To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the legendary Evo Moment 37, EVO and .SWOOSH have teamed up to give away 37 pairs of their Air Force 1 Low.
This iconic moment in esports history, featuring Daigo Umehara’s incredible comeback against Justin Wong in Street Fighter III, is honored through the unique design of this Air Force 1. The shoe, a nod to the fighting game community, showcases intricate details that pay homage to Umehara’s 15 consecutive parries. These are subtly represented on the inner tongue label. The “Blue Void” hue reflects elements from the match, appearing on the insert, heel tab, and rubber outsole.
The sneaker’s upper features a “White Fossil” canvas, layered with lateral Swooshes to embody the essence of Street Fighter III. Additional details include lace dubraes, spikey eyelets, and a Sea Blue hue accentuating the “AIR” branding on the midsole’s backfoot. Completing the tribute, the box is labeled “FINAL FINAL ROUND,” and the accompanying canvas carry bag bears the phrase “IT’S NEVER OVER TIL IT’S OVER,” echoing Wong’s remarkable comeback in Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
