The newfound patenership between adidas and Brain Dead continues to bear fruit. The Los Angeles streetwear brand is poised to release an exploratory three-way collab with Dover Street Market on the adidas Bowling, and for our purposes, they’re also reimagining an under-the-radar silhouette from the Three Stripes archives.

If you’re not a collector, the adidas Forest Hills was introduced in 1976 as a tennis shoe named after the Queens neighborhood that formerly hosted the US Open (the event moved to Corona Park in 1978). Brain Dead’s interpretation comes with a ton of hairy suede, not unlike something you might see in the brand’s Oakley Factory Team collabs. Not only does the green shaggy fabric completely overtake the upper, but the traditionally rubber toe cap on the midsole also works in the material. Maroon leather makes up the eyelet strips and backtab, the latter of which stays true to Brain Dead design language with visible white stitching. The tongue is also altered with a unique geometric texture, hosting bright green co-branding.
