After a half-decade hiatus, the Nike SB Air Trainer 1 is ready to land some tricks, and it all begins with SoCal’s Arts-Rec and their upcoming collaboration with Nike Skateboarding.
Months ago, Arts-Rec revealed a first look at their upcoming Nike SB Dunk Low, revealing an earth-toned colorway with Safari-esque patterns surrounding the mudguard and heel of the design. Over the July 4th weekend, they bumped this project to the top by announcing a July 18th release date, and now they’ve just unveiled a second leg of this debut partnership with Nike SB via the Air Trainer 1.
The late 1980’s all-purpose training shoe became part of the SB fabric during the early-mid 2000s era of Nike SB footwear. After just a few seasons, the Swoosh shelved the Trainer until its unexpected revival in 2019 with Polar Skate; again, Nike is tapping into its network to usher back this fan favorite.
The images shared by Arts-Rec reveal a similar colorway reliant on dark reds/browns/pinks, with the same pattern on the toe and heel. They’ve replaced the “NIKE” branding on the fore-foot straps to display the shop name.

This SB Air Trainer 1 as well as the conjoined Nike SB Dunk Low is confirmed to launch on July 18th, 2025; wider release info on SNKRS and other skateshops is not yet known.
